St. Francis House

St. Francis is a local homeless shelter. To volunteer contact Renee at 829-8937. The times that volunteers are needed include :

  • Any day of the week, 8:30 -10:30 AM. Preparing hot meals. The food and prep kitchen is provided. 
  • Any day of the week, 11:30 AM - 1 PM. Serving hot meals.
  • Any day of the week, 6 PM - 7:15 PM. Provide food, prepare and serve meal. Kitchen provided.
  • Any day of the week, 7 - 8 PM. Provide after dinnner Bible study and/or Worship.
  • Any day of the week, Mar-Nov, 8:30 - 10:30 AM. Make sandwiches for migrant workers. Food provided.

Ecumenical Food Pantry

The Ecumenical Food Pantry is organized by a group of religious organizations in the St. Augustine area to provide food for those in need. To volunteer contact the Anastasia Baptist Church team leader at Mary Klages 940-1376. Opportunities to serve include:

  • 1st and/or 2nd Mondays of the month. Help on the ABC team to pack and distribute food.

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity exists to provide housing for people in need. To volunteer contact the Habitat office at 826-3232.  Opportunities to serve include:

  • Saturdays 8:00AM to 3:00 PM. Construction, painting, landscape work, clean-up.

Missions Council

The missions council meets the first Monday of every month at 11:00 .m. at the Island Campus in the Christian Life Center (CLC) Room 108.  Meetings are open to all those interested. Time is set aside at each meeting for those who attend to share ideas and comments before the council votes on business. For more information contact Ron Palmer, Missions Council Chairperson.

Homeless Coalition

The Emergency Services and Homeless Coalition provides housing for families without homes.  Several of the homes have been adopted by Life Groups at Anastasia Baptist Church. The homeless coalition not only provides temporary housing for families while they make the transition into self-supporting housing, the Homeless Coalition provides food and clothing to those who need.
